Simple and Safe Way to Change the Flat Tire on Your Car

The most important thing to remember when you get a flat is to move the car on the rim to a safe spot off the roadway. The vehicle should be in park and emergency brake engaged before working on the car.

Loosen the lugs slightly on the flat tire, then it is safe to jack the car high enough to loosen them the rest of the way. Remove the flat tire, and place the spare tire in its place. Tighten the lugs only enough to secure the tire to the brake rotor. Lower the jack slowly, then tighten the lugs all the way in an alternating pattern.

Place the flat tire, the car jack, and lug wrench in the trunk and get the car to a service station for a tire replacement. Don't put off tire rotations at Grieco Mazda of Delray Beach, because these will actually extend the life of the tire tread.
