Winter and Your Vehicle Battery

Extreme temperature changes can affect the life of your car's battery. It's vital as the seasons change to test your battery yourself or have a professional test it for you. Harsh winter weather drains your battery daily.

When winter temperatures begin to affect your car, it will affect everything including motor oil. When motor oil gets thicker, the battery has to work harder to turn your engine over. The harder it works, the less amperage it maintains. Over time, the battery simply weakens to a point it can't maintain the power to turn an engine. A weak battery at the start of winter won't survive until the end. Knowing that your battery is at the top of it's game before the temperatures drop is the best way to keep from being stranded.

Feel free to bring your car by our dealership as the seasons change for a battery, and vehicle, check-up.
